Holiday Estates III, started development in 1976. In 1979 the clubhouse was constructed . Homes in Holiday Estates lll were given the option to join. All homes in the newly-developed Lemon Bay Isles phases 1,1A and 2 would automatically hold membership in the club. The first annual meeting of the Lemon Bay-Holiday Recreational Association, Inc. was held on January 22, 1981 with 150 members in attendance. Dues were assessed at $100.00 per year. The first coffee hour was started as well as bingo . The Men’s Club served its first official meal in 1983.
In November of 1987, members voted to change the club name to Edgewater Club, Inc. and membership was 470 properties. Expansion of the clubhouse was started in 1991. Annual dues were raised to $125 in 1995. In 1997, the security card system was installed and membership voted to make the clubhouse smoke-free. The Edgewater Club in 2002 had a membership of 639. In 2004 the membership increased to 647. Today ,2020, the dues is set at $250 and the Edgewater Club has a membership of 649 members.
